Construction Opportunities
Looking for Carpenters, Apprentices, Laborers, Painters, and Masons willing and eager to learn the trades. Ideal candidates will work hand in hand and learn under experienced carpenters.
Ideal candidates should be based in Union County, New Jersey, preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Willingness to learn to read construction drawings, sketches to determine specifications
- Learn to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood
substitutes, and other materials
- Assist in building foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls, and roof
systems
- Assisting install windows, doors, stairs, and cabinetry
- Assisting to repair or replace damaged or defective parts or sections of structures
- Willingness to learn to operate hand and power tools
- Duties range from rough framing to high end finish work, and everything in between.
- Apprentice would work hand in hand and learn under experienced carpenters
Schedule:
Monday to Friday.
40 hours per week.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Type:
Temporary. Potential for Full-Time Opportunity.
Certifications/Licenses:
Driver's License is required.
Clean Driving Record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Position requires the individual to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch or crawl; to lift a weight
or exert force from 10-100 pounds of the time. Ability to perform physical labor without
restrictions, including lifting equipment in excess of 50 pounds, performing work on
rocks, scaffolding and ladders. The position requires close, distance, color vision,
peripheral vision and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus.
- The individual in this position may be exposed to environmental such as wet or humid
conditions (non-winter). Moderate noise is typical for the work environment.
